Emmert Dorrow

An ordinary Waterdeep dockhand — gray, stubbled, in worn working clothes — who was the source of the mind-control that turned a room full of patrons white-eyed at the Deep Water Inn. He died to a crossbow bolt, and every white eye in the room cleared the instant he did.

Nothing about him suggested a mastermind. Detect magic run over the tavern afterwards found no trace of magic at all. A pool of seawater had spread from beneath his body — not from any wound or his mouth, the DM was explicit; it "just sort of washed out and then settled."

In a separate pocket, folded in leather, he carried the eye-coin. His purse went to the barkeep to be returned to his widow, Thora.
