Umberlee eye-coin

A coin taken from Emmert Dorrow's body at the Deep Water Inn, folded inside a leather pouch in a pocket separate from his purse. One face bears an eye. The other bears a number — unique to each coin — buried under white-and-green calcification and completely unreadable. Fiz's tinker's tools could not clean it and risked only damaging it further.

What it does. It takes hold of anyone who went white-eyed at the inn: the barkeep touched it and blanked, and had no memory of it afterward. It did nothing at all to Fiz, who handled it throughout, nor to a patron who had not been possessed. It also affects Toz, who hid the fact — only Eno noticed, and has said nothing.

**Identify reading. A magic-imbued object, therefore a magic item. No attunement, no charges, no useful properties. Not created by a spell. Exactly one spell is currently upon it: Eternal Corrosion — it is continually corroded, and cleaning the corrosion causes it to return magically. Reading it taught Fiz the spell as a cantrip: castable on any object he can touch that fits in the palm of his hand. The DM has confirmed it is homebrew and its full details are still to be determined**.

What it means. The priestess of Umberlee identified it as an old symbol of her goddess — shine and rot at war on one disc, life and death, a cycle. She was clear the coin is not cursed; it merely displays the corruption of the sea. What was done with it at the inn was strange, and her verdict was a warlock who has tapped Umberlee's power for their own ends.

Stowed in the party's Bag of Holding, with instructions that nobody handle it.
