Open Threads
Every loose end and stated next step the crew has left in its wake — newest first.
Session 2026-08-12
What's next
- Copy Kuyrl's map before starting any fight — the trade offered is a copy from Zephyros's rune book for a copy of the map.
- Extract Kuyrl, his wife and his son. Explicitly do not pay Brindle; the debt is engineered never to clear.
- A giant is needed to open the way at the Oracle, which makes Kuyrl — or Harshnag — necessary rather than merely useful.
- Find a diviner to trace the warlock who bent Umberlee's power at the inn.
- The deep speaker — the Cult's orders defer to it, the drowned all dream of it, and Toz dreams of it and has told nobody.
- Klauth, the Old Wyrm of the North, is a lever nobody has pulled; the Nandar heir could lift Hal's curse without the ride to Nightstone.
- A dead innocent lies on the docks, killed by the crew's own thunder, in a city whose watch already tried to detain them once.
Session 2026-06-16
What's next
- Track down Yackerty in the Trades Ward and win a Harper teleport to Silverymoon.
- Find Harshnag and, through him, the Oracle — then a giant's conch.
- Court a dragon ally: Old Gnawbone in Kryptgarden Forest, or the copper Vexalanthus on the High Road.
- Talk to Brindle Stormtide about a new ship, and check on the goliath at the gate (a traveler from Cormeer, name unknown).
- Figure out who sent the white-eyed thralls, and what "offer" the voice in Toz's dreams keeps pressing.
- Toz has Valkur's scripture to study; his water-dreams and the presence beneath the sea remain unresolved.
Session 2026-06-02
What's next
- Find Queen Guh, and learn why the giants are being driven to gather for her.
- Golden Fields is, for now, holding — twice raided since the crew arrived, and twice still standing.
Session 2026-05-12
Loose Ends
- Shalvis is dead in the street — the crew still doesn't know he served the Zhentarim, and Kella, asleep beside him at the inn, wakes to find him gone.
- Giants are inbound on Golden Fields, and the crew spent much of its magic on the warm-up.
- Miros survived the night, but only just; Lifferloss and two of his treants were scorched, and the grove was stripped of its magical produce.
- A grateful survivor promised "an extra something" for the defense — a reward still to be collected.
- Villager casualties and a burned house are on the ledger; the town's lazy guard and the breach in the wall remain a problem with worse on the way.
- One bugbear slipped away in the inn-yard mist, and the raider bent by Naxene's Suggestion may still be wandering off.
Session 2026-03-08
What's Next
- Carry Naxene's letter to Chazlauth in Waterdeep.
- Seek out Harshnag — start with his statue in Waterdeep and the scattered remnants of Force Gray.
- In Silverymoon, find Baros Ravenkind for the silver eagle messenger to Zephyros.
- Keep an eye on Golden Fields: the giants will be back, the guard captain is lazy, and the abbot is asleep at the wheel. The new shepherdess also bears watching.
Session 2026-02-10
What's Next
- The Eye of Annam. Zephyros's vision points the crew here before they face any giant lord. Location unknown; the oracle there can answer any question they bring.
- The half-dragon's purpose. He was not the dragon's pawn — he had his own aims, possibly involving the tower itself. His vial of ash, his Draconic notes, and the blue dragon sigil ring are all unread clues.
- Toz's drowning god. The malevolent presence in his dreams claims his sea-god has abandoned him and is courting his worship. The connection to his lost ship, the True Hand, remains unspoken.
- Goldenfields ahead. The walled farming town lies within sight; the crew has not yet entered it.
Session 2026-01-27
What's Next
- Pressing on toward Goldenfields, still inside the unnatural storm, with worse rumored to be following the gargoyles in.
- Zephyros awaiting answers from his contacts on the other planes about the ominous tidings.
- Toz holding the new wind-chalk and the player map of Faerûn; Fiz with his giant-rune primer; Eno with a one-use bronze griffin figurine and a budding rapport with the tower's flock.
- The mystery of the sealed second floor and the runed sphere that steers the castle still unexplored — Zephyros's privacy on both points untested.
Session 2026-01-13
What's next
- Board Zephyros's flying tower and let it carry them toward their next lead.
- Triboar remains the strongest thread — the contact there reputedly knows about the genie bottle.
- Golden Fields was named as a nearby alternative stop.
- Acquire a giant lord's conch shell if they ever mean to reach Hekaton's daughters at Maelstrom.
- Hal still carries the cursed crypt-sword; finding a way to lift or live with the curse is open.
- Aganor survives but her soul is forfeit and a cambion may yet return for her.
- Xolkin's Zhentarim ties and his grudge against Kella are unresolved.
- The DM noted the prologue has ended — Storm King's Thunder proper begins now.
Session 2025-12-17
What's Next
- Aganor's promised help is now owed and uncollected — what she can actually do for the crew remains to be seen.
- Corvin's rule sits uneasy with Daphne, Xolkin, and the Delfryndels; whether to back him, undermine him, or simply move past him is an open question.
- The cursed sword is in Hal's hands. The nature of the curse, and what it costs him to keep wielding it, are not yet known.
- Two larger threads point outward from Nightstone: frost giants harrying Bryn Shandar, and fire giants digging at Triboar and the Golden Fields. The crew has destinations to choose from.
Session 2025-12-07
What's next
- Travel north — through Waterdeep, then on to Triboar — to find Derothra Shendrel and the genie's name.
- The black ooze still hangs in its stalactite; Windraven's warning about it is unresolved.
- Molak stays with the surviving villagers, who now have to decide whether to try Nightstone again with the Zhentarim squatting in it.
- Snigbat is with the crew as a scout, angling for a spiked club and a place in the crew.
- Word from Molak: hill giants have been raiding silos down in the Golden Fields.
Session 2025-11-12
Loose ends
- The stalactite at the heart of the cave still hums with evil; Windraven's divination pointed straight at it.
- Xolkin and his bandits remain in the Nightstone inn, and his flying snake now knows the crew's faces.
- The goblin boss and the deeper cave were left unexplored — the crew withdrew with the villagers rather than press on.
- The djinn-bottle for Molak is still undelivered.
- The Kella bounty (Darkhope; father in Darkar/Yartar; grandfather Teldor) is on the table if the crew wants to pull that thread.
- Daniel Windraven and the Emerald Enclave are now a friendly contact tracking giant movements across Faerûn.
Session 2025-09-23
What's next
- Find Molak himself — alive, dead, or fled — and hand over the bottle he paid for.
- Open the chest in his quarters and decide what to do with his tapestry.
- Follow Kella's trail into Ardeep Forest, toward the cave the rider's captain believes she was taken to.
- Work out who is throwing boulders at ships and villages both, and why goblins, wargs, and a battered orc warband are converging on Nightstone at the same time.
- Learn the name in the bottle before someone under pressure speaks it blind.
